Where Bantu Cultural Heritage is taught through tasting, touching, hearing, sight, and scent.

What is BANTU ARTS ATELIER?

In a country as diverse as the United States, creating spaces where children, educators, and community members can appreciate different cultures while honoring their histories is essential to shared understanding and coexistence.

Bantu Arts Atelier NYC is a cultural and educational space offering workshops and programs that introduce Bantu artistic practices through direct, hands-on experience. Our work is grounded in art, storytelling, materials, sound, and food.

We believe in learning through practice and transmission, ensuring that ancestral knowledge, techniques, and savoir-faire continue to live and be shared with new generations, including those encountering Bantu arts for the first time.

At Bantu Arts Atelier, heritage preservation means keeping Bantu artistic knowledge alive through use, context, and clarity. We focus on providing cultural understanding without mystification.

Bantu techniques are often misunderstood or reduced to symbols without explanation. We create spaces where these arts can be seen, touched, practiced, and understood as they were meant to be. Our work is rooted in keeping ancestral knowledge alive and passing it on through teaching, making, and shared experience.
